See Canon’s Black Friday Deal’s then Take Pictures Like This
Ask most photographers and they’ll likely say that besides the person taking the photo, the lens is the next most important tool.
Why am I mentioning this? Because for Canon users, these two weeks could mean saving several hundred dollars on a new lens! See all these Canon Black Friday and end of November lens deals with instant rebates.
Want to take great closeups like the photo on the left? Then use the right tool. Specifically, look for lenses that best work for the type of pictures you normally take.
For portraits, look for fixed lenses in the 80mm to 105mm range. For sports, the 70-200mm 2.8, 300mm and 400mm lens should be your main tools.
Remember, unlike camera bodies which will die or become obsolete in a 2-4 years, a good lens has a much longer lifespan. I own lenses that are more than 10 years old and use them on a weekly basis.
In the next several days and coming weeks, expect to see various sites offering special deals on camera’s and lenses. Most are bundled, but a few will be single item deals. Be aware that the new camera models are not discounted (unless bundled with a lens kit) during the Holiday season.
For those that are looking for a “body only” deal on a newly announced camera, it won’t happen. Your best option would be to buy the kit then re-sell the lens on eBay. However, if you’re only requirement is to find a good camera deal? Then the options are endless. For example here’s a Nikon deal that I mentioned last week, which the price has dropped even more since I posted it.
